Natural Wonders Within Bodrum and The Cyclades Greek Islands

Bodrum is one of thirteen districts within Mugla and is known for being an affluent and important tourist destination due to its many unique and charming features. The tour will depart at 4:00 pm from Bodrum. Tour members will witness an abundance of natural beauty, be guided through popular sites and explore some beautiful Greek Islands. The fantastic route will also include pleasing swimming spots, spectacular beaches and there will also be many historical sites to explore.

Today we will visit the mesmerizing Kos Island, it is the second most visited island of Dodecanese and is known for its historical sites, wonderful beaches, and thriving vegetation. The island's history dates back over 5,000 years and many traces from the Ancient Greeks, the Romans, the Venetians, the medieval Knights, and the Ottomans can be seen. Popular sites on the Island include the ancient Asklepieion holistic healing center, &nbsp;Neratzia medieval castle, the ancient Greek Agora, and Antimachia Castle. The Island has many fantastic beaches to discover with a range of different atmospheres, textures and amenities. Some of the more well known beach locations include Kardamena Beach, Tigaki Beach, Mastichari Beach, Marmari Beach, and Kefalos Beach. It is also locally known as the cycling island, due to its 13 kilometer long cycling road and mountain trails.

Today we will spend the day at Astypalea which is another small island that belongs to the Dodecanese island group and lies within the southeastern Aegean Sea. Its secluded location and peaceful, traditional atmosphere provides a perfect location to discover many Greek traditions. Visitors can expect to see many Cubic whitewashed houses and churches, narrow alleys and authentic blue windows. Within the island's capital of Chora many shops, restaurants, bars, historical sites and magnificent beaches can be found along with the main tourist attraction of Querini Castle.

Today we will explore Santorini Island, which is the most popular of the Greek Islands. Within the 17th century B.C. the island was reshaped, after a large volcanic eruption occurred causing the magnificent caldera. There are many fascinating sites to discover on the island including its spectacular landscape, red and black volcanic beaches, a volcanic creator and dramatic sea views. Tour members can find many gourmet restaurants, Cycladic architecture, rocky landscapes and it is also a wonderful place to watch the sunset.

The next island that we will visit is known as the heart of the Aegean Sea. Ios Island is one of the most popular holiday destinations within Greece and attracts many tourists during the summer months. Many things can be seen on the island such as cobblestone alleys, ancient churches, and historical monuments. The island is known to have some of the beast beaches in the Cyclades, crystal clear sea waters and an abundance of beauty. It is also extremely famous for its vibrant nightlife where many bars, clubs and evening entertainment venues can be found.

Today tour members can explore Naxos Island, this location is quieter compared to its neighboring Cycladic islands and the islands that we have already visited. It is home to many ancient sites, with its past being strongly influenced by the Venetians and the Franks. Along with its ancient temples and impressive monuments, the island showcases a beautiful natural landscape where green valleys, beautiful beaches, rural villages and large mountains can be seen. When exploring the island visitors can expect to see whitewashed houses and streets filled with medieval charm. It has some of the best beaches within the Cyclades islands and its coastline is lined with many sandy and quiet beaches all surrounded by crystal clear waters.

We will be visiting two spectacular locations on today's tour. Our first stop is Paros Island, which lies at the center of the Cyclades island group. Traditional features, Cycladic architecture, spectacular beaches, historical monuments, quaint villages and a beautiful 120 kilometer long coastline can all be seen. Many restaurants, bars, and traditional taverns can also be found but the star of this island is its magical beaches. We will then take a trip to Antiparos which is located right next to Paros Island. Antiparos has a cosmopolitan character however the location is not as busy as its neighboring islands. It provides guests with an ideal location for a relaxing afternoon away from the hustle and bustle. Like many of the Greek islands it is famous for its sandy beaches and perfect swimming conditions. On the right hand side of the island there is an impressive cave to explore. Within the capital many restaurants, bars and taverns can be found along with charming features such as traditional architecture and a Venetian castle and fortress.

Mykonos Island is famous for its fun activities and authentic architecture. It is full of whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and traditional windmills. Here the atmosphere is very cosmopolitan with a vibrant nightlife scene. There are many things to see, do and experience such as watching the incredible sunsets, soaking up the area's traditions and dancing the night away at one of the many exciting beach parties. The main town is known as the entertainment capital of the island where tour members can experience venues such as designer shopping boutiques, lovely bars, and high energy clubs. For relaxation the island also has many types of beaches from crowded to secluded and pebbled to sandy, all of which boast deep clear blue waters.

Ikaria Island is full of authentic tradition, taverns, scenic landscapes, wonderful beaches, and locally made wines. This magnificent island is well known for the longevity of its residents. Which is due to the nutritious local diet, exercise, stress-free living, fresh air and positivity. There are many beaches to discover, walking tracks to complete, small villages to explore and local delicates to enjoy. The tour will then guide us to Fourni which is unspoiled by mass tourism and has many charming villages to visit. This natural wonderland is well loved by visitors who are looking for a place to swim, hike and explore nature.

Today our tour will guide us to a location with lots of spiritual character. Patmos Island belongs to the northern part of the Dodecanese island group and it has many important monuments to view. The most important of which being the Monastery of Saint John which is protected by walls, giving it a fortress- like feel. There are also many other monasteries dotted around the island along with the Cave of the Apocalypse, where, according to legends, Apostle John was inspired to write the Book of Revelation. In the capital of the island tour members can enjoy traditional architecture, narrow paved alleys, cafes, restaurants and taverns where local delicacies are on offer. There are also many beaches to find such as Agriolivado and Livadi Geranou, on the northern side of the island along with more secluded beach areas.

We will start our day by visiting the Island of Arkoi. It is a very special place where only a small proportion of the land has been touched by human intervention. The picturesque island has wonderful views, and there are approximately only 50 people who reside here. We will then visit Lipsi, which is a small island at the eastern side of the Aegean Sea. The capital of Lipsi town, holds many activities to enjoy along with the island's main port, restaurants, shops and other facilities. Close by Lientou and Kambos beaches can also be found, complete with crystal clear waters, a tranquil atmosphere and unspoiled natural beauty.

Leros Island is on the agenda for today, the relaxed and chilled-out area is located in close proximaty to Patmos and Lipsi. It has some wonderful little villages, it is full of charm and has many unique features. Some of the villages on the island include Agia Marina which has a famous flour mill, Pandeli which is known for its medieval fortress and war museum, Lakki which has neoclassical architecture to admire and Alinda which has a relaxing atmosphere, worlds away from modern civilization. The island has some wonderful beaches and hidden coves to explore, all famous for their reef-like seabeds. The waters around the island are very popular with scuba divers due to the shipwrecks and abundance of marine life that can be seen.

Pserimos Island is a quiet place, it is completely car free and has many beautiful views to admire. Tour members can enjoy being surrounded by nature, and admiring the birds and goats whilst exploring this interesting landscape. The only &nbsp;inhabited village is called Aulakia where guests can find beaches, local homes and see the many boats that stop directly on the beach. As we head back towards the Turkish coast we will visit Kalymnos Island, famous for its magnificent rocky landscape and international climbing clubs. In the west side of the island many residential buildings and organized beaches can be found along with small vendors selling treasures that have been collected by locals when diving.

On the final day of the tour, we will depart from Bodrum at 9:00 am. It is one of the most prestigious tourist destinations in Turkey and is often visited by celebrities over the summer months. It is well known for hosting luxurious yachts, high-end hotels, fashionable boutiques, and glamorous cars. The city is also a gateway for nearby beach towns and resorts that tour members can discover. This authentic region will charm members who love the sea, history, arts, and culture.
