The adventurous Blue Cruise from Bodrum, provides historic sites and natural gems to discover within Turkey and also on the islands of Greece.

Natural Beauties of Bodrum, South Dodecanese Islands and Fethiye

Bodrum is a city and a popular international tourist destination. Tour members will depart from Bodrum at 4:00 pm. Halicarnassus Mausoleum, is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and we will be the first stop on our tour. The open-air museum has historic remains, a beautiful garden along with collections from the battle scene friezes. The tour will then continue to Bodrum Antique Theater, a preserved structure from ancient Halikarnassus where gladiators once fought, offering spectacular views of Bodrum’s town. Our next destination is Myndos Gate, a historical site, consisting of two monumental towers and ancient remains. Bodrum Castle and the Underwater Archeology Museum is our final stop for today. The UNESCO World Heritage Site, houses the Bodrum Underwater Archaeology Museum where exhibitions, collections and shipwrecks can be seen.

Located southwest of Bodrum is Kos Island, famous for its sandy beaches and historical landmarks. One of the most popular historical sites on the island is Kos Asklepion, representing what was once an ancient temple devoted to the God of Health, Asclepius. The top of the site has a spectacular green forest full of pine trees that overlooks Asklepion, Kos Town, and the Aegean Sea. One of the more popular beaches on the island is Lambi Beach, it has a long, sandy area that stretches over 1 kilometer in length. Tour members can then explore Nafklirou street which is famous for its vibrant nightlife, where many bars, and restaurants can be found.

There are several Islands located near Kos. Gyali Island is a volcanic Greek island, with a landscape full of natural beauty; white sand, turquoise waters and green pine forests can be admired. Further south lies Nisyros Island, a volcanic island that is home to the youngest active volcano, featuring thermal springs with warm waters. It also has many historical and cultural attractions dotted in its villages alongside secluded beaches and beautiful vistas from its hilltops.

Tilos Island, is a small secluded location famous for its history, nudist beaches and hiking trails. The island is surrounded by many outstanding and unspoiled beaches that have crystal clear waters and a picturesque ambience. The villages within the island each have their own distinct chatacteristics. Lividia, the port city, contains restaurants, shops and many other facilities. Mikro Chorio remains a ghost village as it was abandoned in the 1950s and Megalo Chorio offers outstanding views. Tilos was also once home to an endemic species of Dwarf Elephants, the paleontological collection from this period can be seen within the Elephant Museum.

Symi Island is a picturesque Dodecanese Island. In Greek mythology it is believed to have been named after the nymph Symi who was placed there by Zeus to direct sailors safely through the rocky terrain. Today the island is a festive paradise, with many historical landmarks and museums to discover. The port town has colorful neoclassical stone houses that are dotted in its mountainous hills to admire and there are also many beaches where water sports activities are available. The area is also popular for enjoying a romantic evening whilst watching the colorful sunset.

Rhodes Island, is the largest island in the Dodecanese group. Known for its beach resorts and ancient ruins that are scattered around the island. In the village of Lindos is the Lindos Acropolis, a captivating archaeological site that stands 116 meters above sea level. It has remains of a fortress wall along with ruins of the goddess Athena's temple. On the north side of the island is Kamiros Ancient City, dating back to the bronze ages. This city is now an archaeological site with ruins such as the temple of goddess Athena Kameiras, and the doric temple dedicated to Apollo.

Cleopatra Baths, is where the ancient Queen Cleopatra is believed to have bathed. Ancient remnants of the baths can be seen today and the water is believed to help with skin conditions as it contains a range of natural minerals. The tour will then continue to Merdivenli Bay, a cove with natural caves deep within its steep canyons. It is surrounded by beautiful waters and a pristine beach that is perfect for sunbathing. The tour will then proceed to Fethiye’s Tarzan Bay, tour members can swing on a rope, landing in the deep azure seas. Many ancient amphoras, colorful small fish, octopuses and moray eels can also be seen.

On the final day of the tour, we will depart from Fethiye at 9:00 am. Fethiye has many historical sites to visit near its port including Fethiye Ancient Theatre, the 2,000-year-old Lycian Rock Tombs, and the Castle of Fethiye where many tortoises can also be seen amongst the castle's remains. Near the coastline there are several beaches to discover and the popular streets of Paspatur where shops, and a number of restaurants and lively bars can be found.
