Incredible Beaches, Ancient History and Local Markets Within Kas

Kas is one of Turkey’s most popular holiday resorts in the country. To kick off the tour, members will depart from Kas at 4:00 pm. After exploring the town, the tour will guide us to the Ancient City of Aperlai. Originally a Lycian port city in outlying Lycia, it dates as far back as the 4th century BC. Ancient remnants such as a sarcophagus, a Roman bridge, and the city walls can be seen. From here, we will head towards Yaglica Bay. The bay is a perfect stop for those wanting to experience the warm waters in the area, particularly due to it being highly sheltered. After swimming in the glorious waters, we will move over to Kocakari Bay, which also has calm waters, making it perfect for overnight stays.

To start the day, we will visit Tersane Island. The island has remnants of sunken ships, as it was once used by the Ottoman navy. From here, we will cross to Kekova, which is known for its uninhabited island and fantastic Sunken City, before returning to the Simena mainland. The most monumental site here is Simena Castle, which is placed on the top of the hill and looks down at the town below. Next, the tour will guide us to Ucagiz Village, a Special Environment Protection Area that is beautiful and unspoiled. The last stop will be the incredible Gokkaya Bay, popular for divers due to its abundant marine life.

Today tour members will visit Pirates Cave, located on the rocky coast of Asirli Island. The naturally formed cave was given its name due to the legend of it being a pirate's hideout. Next, we will head to Karalos Bay, which is located on the southeast coast of Kekova Island. It is a highly sheltered bay, making it perfect for swimming and basking in the sun. Another great spot for swimming is Eleksi Island, popular with divers and those who love to snorkel due to its rich marine life and waters full of corals. Lastly, we will wrap the day up at Limanagzi Bay, known to be one of the most picturesque inlets around Kas.

On the final day of the tour, members will depart from Kas at 9:00 am. The popular holiday destination is situated along the Lycian Way and is renowned for its natural beauty and beaches; however, the town center is just as popular. It was built around the ancient town of Antiphellos, leaving behind historical remnants that can be seen today. Aside from historic artifacts and beaches, it is also a great place for entertainment and other recreational activities. Visitors can explore the Kas Long Market, where the cobbled streets are filled with bougainvillea-covered buildings and there is an array of boutiques, jewelry stores, and souvenir shops.
