The Rovinj Blue Cruise provides a thrilling adventure, from ancient Croatian cities and traditional villages to tourist hotspots and magnificent beaches.

Ancient Cities, Spectacular Croatian Parks and Wonderful Beaches 

The city of Rovinj is a popular tourist resort and fishing port that lies in the northern Adriatic Sea on the Istrian peninsula. The tour will depart at 4:00 p.m. from Rovinj. This destination is well known for its historical buildings, cultural sites, national parks, and interesting caves. Whilst exploring we will take a trip to Rovinj old town, where we will visit St. Euphemia Church. Built in 1736, it is situated on a hill with fantastic views, showcasing fine baroque architecture, along with the tomb of its patron saint, Euphemia. Around this area, tour members can also find many interesting sites, such as Port Rovinj, which is one of the smaller ports within Croatia; Balbi’s Arch, which lies at the main entrance to the Old Town; the Rovinj Heritage Museum; and Marshal Titi Square, where a 14th-century red clock tower featuring the Lion of Saint Mark can be seen. Our final destination for today will lead us to Pula’s Veruda Bay, where the magnificent Marina Veruda can be found. Referred to as one of the rare pearls along the coastline, it has for many years been an idyllic fishing port, surrounded by eye-catching Mediterranean vegetation. It prides itself on being an ecologically conscious area, earning a Blue Flag award for environmental friendliness more than twenty times.

Today's journey will guide us to Susak Island and Losinj Island. Susak Island showcases traditional values and village life, and has not been affected by mass tourism.The island is completely car-free, and a tour of the whole island can be completed within a few hours on foot. There are a few sights to visit while exploring, such as the 18th-century St. Nicholas Church, a lighthouse, and an abandoned military outpost from the 20th century. As for beaches, the most popular include Spiaza and Bok Beach, which are home to soft sand and very shallow waters. There are a few traditional taverns and a post office, but please be aware that there are no banks or cash machines; only cash is accepted. Moving on, we will now visit Losinj Island. It is a popular destination for holidaymakers due to its wonderful natural reserves, rich historical sites, and fabulous beaches. The island is formed from dolomite rocks and chalk limestone, with over 1100 plant species, 230 medical herbs, and exotic plants. Tour members can find several attractions here, such as the Museum of Apoxyomenos and the Losinj Aromatic Garden. Our journey will now take us to Ilovik Island, nicknamed Flower Island due to its lush vegetation. The island is car-free and very easy to explore on foot or by bicycle. It has a peaceful atmosphere and is a great place to relax away from the busy crowds. Due to the island's simple and natural ways of life, the beaches here do not have any facilities or amenities, so be sure to take with you everything that you may need. To conclude our tour for today, we will visit Losinj Island’s Mali Losinj, which is the largest settlement on the island, where tour participants can visit monasteries, churches, ancient ruins, and Renaissance buildings. After a long day of exploring, there are a variety of taverns with live music, vibrant beach bars, nightclubs, and cozy bars to enjoy.

Today's tour will lead us from Losinj Island to Rab Island. Rab Island is described by many as one of the greenest and most magical islands in the Adriatic. Its southwestern coast is covered in wonderful pine forests and spectacular sandy beaches, and its northeast coast is home to charming little villages and high mountainous cliffs. The main settlement on the island is Rab Town, where many attractions can be found, such as the old town walls, well-preserved 15th-century buildings, and many churches, including St. Mary’s Church, the Church of St. John, the Church of St. Andrew, and the Franciscan Monastery of St. Euphemia. As for its beaches, Rab is home to many magnificent shores, especially around the town of Lopar. The most popular is Paradise Beach, due to its sandy terrain, pristine conditions, and shallow waters. We will now visit Komrcar Park, which was once used as an area for cattle grazing, but in the 19th century, it was transformed into one of the most beautiful forest parks in the Mediterranean. This 8.3-hectare location is a green oasis of spectacular beauty and one of the best experiences that can be found within the town. The park attracts many visitors and is a paradise for nature lovers. Here, tour members can walk through green labyrinths and paths where centuries-old pines, cypresses, and palm trees can be seen. There are many different trails to follow and several benches to sit back, relax and enjoy the magnificent views.

The journey for today will take us from Rab Island to Osor. Osor, formerly known as Apsoros, gained its name through a mythical origin, deriving from the name of an ancient Greek hero, the tragic heroine Medea′s brother Apsyrtus. Osor sits on a narrow channel that separates the islands of Cres and Losinj. The channel was built in Roman times to make sailing more accessible. It became a favored location during ancient times when traffic between the Northern Adriatic and the Dalmatian Coast flowed here making it an international harbor. Today, the islands are connected by a rotating bridge, and this hidden town is an open-air museum where history, cultural heritage, and political history can be seen at every turn. Some interesting places worth visiting include the remains of the town walls, which date back to the 9th century B.C., contemporary sculptures, forts, the earliest Early-Christian basilica, Renaissance portals and monasteries and remains of antique villas.Within the ancient town square, fabulous buildings from the 15th and 16th centuries can be found, including the town's museum, Bishop's Palace, and the impressive Cathedral. Along with its history, turquoise waters, forestry, and pebbled beaches, it provides a unique Croatian experience to all who visit.

Today's adventure will guide us from Osor to Pula. The city of Pula is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Istria. It is also one of the oldest cities in Croatia, with its history dating back to the Neolithic Age. When exploring this wonderful place, tour members can find countless attractions, such as the charming old town, ancient temples, ancient buildings, regional markets, the Pula Aquarium, and the Pula Sea Cave. One site not to be missed is the Pula Arena which is the most important landmark within the city. Our final destination for today is Pula Pomer, located approximately 8 kilometers south of Pula. The village of Pomer is mainly known for its shallow coastal areas and picturesque small port that showcases natural scenery and a Mediterranean atmosphere. Here tour members can find Pomer Beach, which surrounds the peninsula. The long beach is complete with natural shade and emerald green waters that are perfect for water activities such as swimming and windsurfing. It is a perfect place to sit back, relax, or explore. Many amenities can be found, such as the ACI Marina Pomer, shops, bars, and restaurants serving the region's famous cuisine of mussels and fresh seafood.

The final day of our tour will conclude in Pula. With approximately 60,000 permanent residents, Pula is the largest city in Istria, where history, nature, and spectacular beaches can be found at every turn. When exploring Pula’s Ancient City, there are many attractions to visit. The main attraction here is the Pula Amphitheatre, also referred to as the Arena of Pula, which once held up to 26,000 spectators. Here, tour members can witness an abundance of history and walk in the footsteps of past gladiators. Other fascinating attractions include Forum Square, also known as Republic Square, which has a charming and friendly atmosphere. The historic monument of the 8-meter-high Triumphal Arch, also known as the Triumphal Arch of Sergius. The Fortress Kastel, which dates back to the early 17th century and is located on the highest hill in the city offering fantastic views of the historic center. In regards to religious buildings, many can be found, such as the Temple of Augustus, the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary, Sveti Antun Church, and the Franciscan Monastery, to name a few. For those of you who wish to take some time to relax just outside the city center is where the most beautiful beaches can be found. Hawaii Beach is one of the most popular and portrays an almost Caribbean feeling with beautiful rock formations and clear turquoise waters. As for nightlife, there are many venues to choose from, ranging from restaurants to cozy cafes and lively bars.
