Located in the Saronic Gulf within Greece, Agistri which is also known as Angristi, is a romantic island that is full of beauty. Just 35 kilometers away from Athens, this paradise features lush green surroundings, mesmerising turquoise waters and an exotic ambiance. Anchoring on the Island
While it's permitted to anchor anywhere around the island, Aponissos, a small peninsula on the western coast, is the most popular place. It offers a small harbour for mooring boats and is a great spot for swimming and snorkelling. The ports at and marinas of Skala and Megalochori provide a perfect location for taking an evening stroll to enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding natural beauty whilst the sand and rock seabed around the island provide good anchoring conditions.
Temperatures reach their peak in July and August with highs of 94.9°F (34.9°C) and water temperatures of 79.3°F (26.3°C). Agistri island is bountiful in marine life and magnificent underwater scenery that makes it a great place for scuba diving. Closer to the shoreline the seabed becomes a little rough with pebbles, seaweed and some slippery algae-covered stones, sea shoes are recommended. Visitors fall in love with the many hidden bays and coves that are scattered around the island. Skala Beach and Megalochori Beach are the most popular and are considered the most organised while Aponissos and Dragonera are well known for their natural beauty. Magiza Beach, Bariama beach, Xekfoti Beach and Skliri Beach are small secluded beaches and are easily accessible by boat.
