Wonderful Greek Islands With a Traditional Greek Atmosphere

Alimos may not be as popular as many of the other Greek cities that we will visit during our tour; however, this small and picturesque area is developing, becoming a favored place for holidaymakers. Our tour will depart at 4:00 p.m. from Alimos Marina. It is one of the largest marinas in the southeastern Mediterranean and is most definitely one of the most popular and luxurious within Greece. Located south-west of Athens, 15 kilometers from the city center, it is also the most historic marina, with more than a 1000 permanent berths. This fantastic marina will provide the perfect starting point for our adventure ahead due to its geographical position and first-class yachting amenities.

Today our trip will take us from Alimos to Kea Island. Kea Island, also known as Tzia, is situated in the Aegean Sea and lies in close proximity to Athens. Although it is part of the Cyclades, it doesn't portray the characteristics of a typical Cycladic island. Kea showcases traditional whitewashed houses, long-established farmhouses, and tile-roofed buildings that use earthy tones. The island is full of rare plant species and wild animals, such as birds and reptiles, making it the perfect destination for nature lovers. Within the island's capital, Loulida, tour members can enjoy a relaxing car-free zone, traditional architecture, a medieval castle, and an archaeological museum. Other beautiful villages located on the island include Korissia, Otzias and Vourkari, where we will conclude our day. As for the beaches, some are organized, such as Gialiskari, Koundouros, and Korissia, while others are secluded and completely unspoiled by mass tourism.

The tour will now guide us from Kea Island to Syros Island. Syros Island is full of beautiful scenery, from natural wonders to Cycladic and Venetian architecture. This almost fairy-tale-like island showcases fine examples of whitewashed houses blending perfectly with colorful mansions and big churches. The island has lots on offer, from architectural gems in the capital town of Ermoupoli to cultural sights such as the Town Hall building and narrow alleys that are full of surprises. The island’s coastline is complete with several beautiful beaches, the most popular of which are situated on the southern side of the island. Our day will conclude by visiting the capital town of the Syros Islands, Ermoupoli. This magnificent town is well developed in terms of its culture and architectural beauty and its glorious past shines through. Tour members will be able to see many old mansions, ancient marble streets, churches, monuments, and neoclassical buildings, all of which were built by talented architects from all over Europe. There are also many sightseeing opportunities here, including Miaouli Square, the Town Hall, the Archaeological Museum, the Cultural Centre of Hermoupolis, and the Apollo Theatre.

We will now travel from Syros Island to Tinos Island. Tinos Island is a very spiritual place and is described by many as extremely calming. There are various religious attractions to explore, such as the Panagia Megalochari Church, which is one of the most visited religious pilgrimages in Greece. Scattered along the mountainside are many small villages, including Pyrgos, Ktikado, Kardiani, Loutra, and Tripotamos, where tour members can witness wonderful architecture, local delicacies, a friendly atmosphere, and many lush sycamore trees.

Today we will travel from Tinos Island to Mykonos Island. Mykonos Island is famous for its fun activities and authentic architecture. It is full of whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches, and traditional windmills. Here, the atmosphere is very cosmopolitan, with a vibrant nightlife scene. There are many things to see, do, and experience, such as watching the incredible sunsets, soaking up the area's traditions, and dancing the night away at one of the many exciting beach parties. The main town is known as the entertainment capital of the island, where tour members can experience venues such as designer shopping boutiques, lovely bars, and high-energy clubs. For relaxation, the island also has many types of beaches, from crowded to secluded and pebbled to sandy, all of which boast deep, clear blue waters.

On today's tour, we will be sailing from Mykonos Island to Paros Island. The spectacular Paros Island lies at the center of the Cyclades island group. Traditional features, Cycladic architecture, spectacular beaches, historical monuments, quaint villages, and a beautiful 120-kilometer-long coastline can all be seen. Many restaurants, bars, and traditional taverns can also be found, but the star of this island is its magical beaches. Whilst exploring Paros Island we will visit Naoussa. This picturesque fishing village lies within a large bay on the northern part of the island, built around a port where local fishing boats moor. As one of the more lively places on the island, there are a variety of restaurants to enjoy, the remains of a Venetian castle to explore, and churches to discover, such as the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin and the Church of Agios Nikolaos. The area is also famous for its wonderful golden beaches, including Kolymbithres, Agioi Anargyri, Monastiri, and many more.

We will now travel from Paros Island to Ios Island. Ios Island is known as the heart of the Aegean Sea; it is one of the most popular holiday destinations within Greece and attracts many tourists during the summer months. Many things can be seen here, such as cobblestone alleys, ancient churches, and historical monuments. The island is known to have some of the best beaches in the Cyclades with crystal-clear sea waters, and an abundance of beauty. It is also extremely famous for its vibrant nightlife, where many bars, clubs, and evening entertainment venues can be enjoyed.

Today's tour will take us from Ios Island to Santorini Island. Santorini Island is the most popular of the Greek Islands and is regularly visited during the summer months. Within the 17th century B.C., the island was reshaped after a large volcanic eruption occurred, causing the magnificent caldera. There are many fascinating sites to discover on the island, including its spectacular landscape, red and black volcanic beaches, a volcanic creator, and dramatic sea views. Tour members can find many gourmet restaurants, Cycladic architecture, and rocky landscapes, and it is also a wonderful place to watch the sunset.

The journey today will guide us from Santorini Island to Folegandros Island. Folegandros Island is most definitely one of the most picturesque out of all the Cyclades islands due to its wild landscape and tranquil atmosphere. Like many of the islands, it is rich in tiny whitewashed houses, narrow alleys, colorful windows and doors, and blue-domed churches. In the capital of Chora, a beautiful whitewashed Panagia church, which is the trademark of the island, can be seen. From here, tour members can enjoy the breathtaking views of the shimmering Aegean Sea, watch the magnificent sunset, or visit the Venetian Quarter, which is the oldest place on the island. For our sun seekers, there are several beaches available, such as Agali and Ambeli, which have crystal-clear waters that are perfect for swimming.

Today's adventure will take us from Folegandros Island to Milos Island. Milos Island is known as one of the most exotic and laid-back Greek islands. It stands out from the rest due to its alluring ambiance, rich history, charming fishing villages, delicious food, and indigo bays. Along with its enchanting beauty, it is particularly famous for its caves and beaches, especially the spectacular Sarakiniko Beach. This beach has a lunar landscape consisting of white volcanic rock formations and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Along with Sarakiniko Beach, Milos has over 40 beautiful exotic beaches for tour members to choose from. Our final stop for today will be Adhamas, which is one of the most popular towns on the island of Milos. Here lies the island's port and a lively atmosphere filled with cafes, restaurants, bars, and boutique shops. The town is most famous for its two fantastic beaches, Lagada Beach and Papikinou Beach, both of which are the perfect places to relax on sandy textures or enjoy a swim in crystal-clear waters after a long day of exploring.

Today's adventure will lead us from Milos Island to Sifnos Island. Sifnos Island consists of over 300 cubic whitewashed houses, traditional churches, and little shops boasting its authentic Cycladic architecture. Sifnos is described by many as having a fairytale charm that makes it feel like it’s worlds away from the mainland. The island is most famous for its gastronomy; it is home to the famous Greek chef Nikolaos Tselementes along with many excellent restaurants and taverns serving local recipes, such as capper salad, chickpea soup, and mastelo. Tour members can also visit the island's unique villages, the capital town of Apollonia, explore the narrow alleyways of Kastro, or taste the best local pastries in Artemonas. The beaches on this island are fabulous, and there are several to enjoy, such as Chrisopigi Beach, Platis Gialos, Vathi Beach, and Kamares Beach. Next on today's agenda is a trip to the village of Kamares. This picturesque port lies on the western side of the island. Here, tour members can enjoy many tourist amenities, such as pastry shops, pottery workshops, quaint cafes, bars, and taverns. Along with its lovely waterfront, there are many churches to visit and beaches for relaxation.

Today we will travel from Sifnos Island to Serifos Island. Serifos Island is a remote location, belonging to the Cyclades island group that has not yet been discovered by mass tourism. This area is perfect for tour members wishing for peace and tranquility away from busy life. Both the island's capital town and the island’s villages have been constructed using traditional Cycladic architecture, where whitewashed houses, paved streets, traditional windmills, and breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea can be discovered. The island also has a wonderful 81-kilometer coastline, with a large selection of beautiful beaches to choose from. Our final stop for today is the village of Livadi. This harbor town has many traditional Greek features to admire, along with a variety of restaurants, taverns, bars, and clubs to enjoy. This lovely location is the perfect place to end the day by watching the sunset over the glistening sea water.

We will now sail from Serifos Island to Kythnos Island. Kythnos Island is situated a short distance from the Greek capital and is one of the most popular city-break destinations. It is home to several quaint villages, including Driopida, Loutra, and the island's capital, Chora, which stands out due to its elegant architecture, narrow alleys, colorful flowers, windmills, and easy-going atmosphere. Loutra is well loved by many as it has thermal springs that are rich in iron and sulfur, and these minerals are believed to have healing properties. The island's scenic coastline is scattered with many beaches, from sandy to pebbled and crowded to secluded, all of which are perfect for swimming. Merichas Village will be our final stop for today. This small seaside village has maintained its traditional appearance despite being in close proximity to the lively main port of Kythnos. Here, tour members can enjoy sitting on the water's edge at one of the authentic restaurants or visit sites such as the church of Panagia Flambouriani and Vryokatsro. Vryokatsro is the ancient capital of the island, where ruins of walls, temples, altars, and Roman buildings can be seen.

The penultimate day of our journey will guide us from Kythnos Island to Alimos. Alimos Marina is situated on the Athenian Riviera in Alimos. Boasting breathtaking views of the Saronic Gulf. This unique point is the perfect place to start and finish our tour. Here, tour members will have direct access to some of the most well-known beaches within the city, such as Eden Beach and Alimos Beach. Other attractions in close proximity include the Alimos summer cinema, Flisvos Park, and the Park of Maritime Tradition.

On the final day of the tour, we will depart from Alimos at 9:00 a.m. The historic Alimos Marina is the perfect location for sea lovers and yachting enthusiasts. The facilities available here provide guests with a pleasant and enjoyable experience, such as restaurants, a swimming pool, and the historic Nautical Club of Kalamaki. Its geographical location provides easy access to other areas such as Athens and the port of Piraeus, and the venue is also a hotspot for special events and professional photography.
