Ancient History and Spectacular Scenery from Fethiye to Kekova

Fethiye is a popular international holiday destination with many interesting places to explore. The tour will depart from Fethiye at 4:00 pm. Tour members will have the opportunity to discover many attractions, cultural hotspots, and historic sites. We will then head towards Butterfly Valley &nbsp;which gained its name from the 100 species of butterflies and moths that are native to the area. Many of these beautiful creatures can be seen deep in the valley during the summer months. The next part of our journey will guide us to the aesthetically pleasing Blue Lagoon, famous for its shades of blue and green, and soft sands. Here, tour members can paddle barefoot along the shoreline or swim across to the tiny island at the mouth of the lagoon. Our final stop for today will be St Nicholas Island also known as Gemiler Island. This small island showcases the remains of five churches, and around forty religious buildings, dating back to the 4th and the 6th century. Here tour members can enjoy an evening swim and find many things to do within the area.

Today will commence by visiting Firnaz Bay also known as Yesilkoy or Aquarium Bay. The bay resembles an aquarium with its clear waters and abundance of marine life. As it is a protected area, the bay showcases peace, tranquility and moments alone with nature. It is famous for its natural mud, which holds many minerals that are believed to rejuvenate, heal and beautify the skin. We will then sail to Kas, well known for its traditional whitewashed houses, beautiful beaches and extravagant harbor. The refined and cozy beach town is very popular for its fishing, diving, and yachting opportunities. Our final stop for today is Limanagzi Bay, where the water has a color palette unlike anywhere else in the region, here visitors can enjoy a relaxing swim after a day of exploring and spend the evening relaxing under the twinkling night sky.

One of the most beautiful areas within Antalya is Kekova, and this will be our first stop for today. This natural treasure mesmerizes guests with sarcophagi in the water, sunken cities, rock tombs and a variety of wonderful bays. Our journey will then continue on to the Sunken City, which was submerged under water due to a devastating earthquake. Within this area Sarcophagi and rock tombs can be seen dating back to the Hellenistic and Roman periods. Continuing on with our historical journey will then visit Simena where Simena Castle also known as Kalekoy can be explored. It is located on a hill, overlooking the spectacular Gokkaya Bay where we will enjoy an evening of relaxation gazing up at the stars.

On the final day of the tour, we will depart from Ucagiz Village at 9:00 am. Located between Kas and Demre, the ancient Greek fishing village is a popular holiday destination, with much of its authentic charm deriving from the surrounding historical ruins, olive farms, and fishermen’s houses. Tour members can stroll along the quaint streets, explore the natural harbor and admire the scenic views. Demre is the final stop on our journey. In ancient Lyrican times Demre was known as Myra. It was an important town and by the 4th century had its own bishop, it was also the home of Saint Nicholas of Myra who was the original Santa Claus. Tour members can find many historical sites such as tombs, a Roman theater, churches and other remains of Roman Myra to explore. Local handmade crafts, souvenirs and locally made rugs can also be purchased.
