Natural Beaches, Spectacular Bays and Historical Hotspots

Fethiye is a port city and a district within the Mugla Province of Turkey's southwestern Turquoise Coast. It is well known for its natural harbor, clear blue waters and numerous rock tombs. Tour members will depart at 4:00 pm from Fethiye, and the day will conclude at Aga Limani Bay. The twin bays are home to extremely clean waters which are cooler than many other destinations within the area. This is due to an underwater spring that provides fresh water to the bay. It is also a favored destination for turtle spotting. For our more adventurous guests, hiking treks are available, where Roman and Byzantine-era ruins along with a working farm can be discovered.

Rhodes Island has a lengthy and impressive history, and a turbulent past full of unexpected twists and turns. Many historic buildings, archaeological sites and medieval monuments can be seen. Rhodes Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by the Knights of St John and is the birthplace of the city. &nbsp;It is home to many interesting attractions such as the Rhodes Grand Master Palace, a medieval castle that showcases one of the rare examples of Gothic architecture. The Byzantine Church of St. Spyridon can also be seen, the single-naved domed basilica is made out of limestone and dates back to the 18th century. Tour members can also visit the Rhodes Suleymaniye Mosque originally built after the Ottoman conquest of Rhodes in 1522 and was later reconstructed in 1808. It was named by Sultan Suleiman to commemorate his conquest of Rhodes.

Lindos Bay is also home to Lindos Beach, it has beautiful sandy textures and a dramatic natural landscape that stretches from the Acropolis of Lindos. There are many beachside restaurants and hotel resorts within this area and it is a very popular destination during the summer months. Symi Island will be our last stop for today. Part of the Dodecanese island group and known for its beaches, charming harbor, and the popular Symi Town which are surrounded by colorful neoclassical houses. Tour members will have the opportunity to explore the area and discover many interesting sites and attractions.

Bozburun is a small seaside town situated on the coast of the Bozburun peninsula. It's well known for its tourism, fishing, sponge diving, and the production of honey. It has a small yet lovely area full of spectacular vegetation, and a pristine sea that is surrounded by secluded coves. The next part of our journey for today will guide us to Bozukkale, which is located in the southwest of Marmaris. The clear water is home to a variety of marine life in the area, making it ideal for snorkeling. Our journey will continue to Loryma Ancient City, a historical location with ancient city ruins on a hill overlooking the bay. The castle is the most important ruin that has survived. It is well preserved and was built to protect the entrance of the bay. We will then continue onto Kiseli Island, home to popular anchoring spots and the ruins of a windmill.

Continuing on from Bozukkale on the southern tip of the Bozburun peninsula the journey will lead us to Serce Port which is an attractive anchorage, with cool and very clean waters. There is a restaurant nestled between the olive trees and members may see some donkeys used for village tours. Glass objects were once excavated from an 11th century Byzantine wreck &nbsp;in this area and these findings are on display in the Bodrum Museum. We will continue our journey to Kadirga Bay, which is home to a fine gravel beach. The steep rocks on the south-east part of the bay provide impressive opportunities for cliff jumping.

Ekincik Bay is located on the north shore of Port Koycegiz between Marmaris and Dalyan and is home to the Iztuzu Beach. The quiet and tranquil area has shallow waters and wooden slopes that surround the bay. It is one of the prettiest and most picturesque bays in the region. Tour members can enjoy a peaceful day of sunbathing on the spectacular beach whilst swimming or snorkeling in the refreshing crystal clear waters.

Cleopatra Baths are located approximately 50 kilometers away from Fethiye. This large bay is surrounded by pine trees and famed for the remaining ruins of Cleopatra’s Baths. According to the legend, Marc Anthony built a Roman Bath at this spot for Cleopatra as a wedding gift and golden sands transported from Egypt were brought here. We will then visit Bedri Rahmi Bay, which reflects natural beauty and important historical significance. Guests can enjoy the lush pine-tree scenery and swim in the clear waters. Along the shoreline, many hidden Lycian rock tombs can also be discovered. The tour will lead to a lovely swimming spot at Merdivenli Bay, which is surrounded by large cliffs on either side. Our day will conclude at the picturesque Samanlik Bay, located 3 kilometers outside of Fethiye. It is the perfect place to relax, swim, and snorkel after a long day of exploring.

For the final day of the tour, we will depart from Fethiye at 9:00 am. The tour will guide us through the port city, which is well-known as an international tourist center during the summer months. Tour members can explore luxurious sites and historical attractions such as the Ece Saray Marina and the Lycian Stone Sarcophagi. The beautiful natural beaches of Calis Beach and Fethiye Beach can also be found along with many cafes, restaurants, and markets where guests can purchase souvenirs from the area and experience many regional culinary delights.
