Magnificent History, Picturesque Coves and Wonderful Beaches

On the first day of the tour, we will travel from Hvar Island to Pakleni Island. Hvar Island is one of Croatia's crown jewels in terms of tourism; it is home to the most UNESCO heritage of any island in the world and has more sunny hours than any other in Europe. This island has it all from spectacular beaches, delicious Mediterranean food delicacies, and indigenous grapes creating the finest wines, to a wide variety of water and land sports to choose from. Here, tour members will have the opportunity to visit Hvar Fortress (Fortica Fortress), which lies high above Hvar town. This medieval castle sits on the site of an ancient Illyrian settlement dating from before 500 BC. The views looking down over Hvar and the Pakleni Islands are just a magnificent sight to witness. The island is also rich in Venetian architecture and cultural heritage, and tour members can visit many other areas such as the Franciscan Monastery, Veneranda, the Arsenal and Theatre, and Hanibal Lucic Garden. The iconic waterfront, also known as Riva, is among the most luxurious on the Adriatic, where many superyachts can be seen and the best nightlife in the Adriatic can be found. The final destination for today is the Pakleni Islands, a chain of rocky islets located just off the coast of Hvar. Here, tour members will find picturesque coves, stunning beaches, bars, and an abundance of spectacular nature. The Pakleni Islands archipelago consists of 16 car-free islands or islets, with the three most popular being Sveti Klement, Marinkovac, and Jerolim. The islands are known for their clear waters, wonderful snorkeling and swimming opportunities, secluded beaches, breathtaking view points, and quaint villages.

&nbsp;Today's adventure will guide us from Pakleni Island to the Peljesac Peninsula. Peljesac Peninsula is the second-largest peninsula in Croatia, facing the popular island of Korcula. It is known for its vineyards, farmed oysters, and saltworks, which fed many for centuries including the famous Republic of Dubrovnik. There are many wonderful towns to explore, such as Orebic, Mali Ston, Ston, Zuljana, and Loviste, each with their own unique charm. While exploring the peninsula, tour members can witness pine and cypress trees, abandoned villas, ancient stone walls, historical ruins, herbs, and wildflowers. There are also many outdoor activities to enjoy, such as the beautiful beaches of Trstenik, Viganj, and Trstenica.

Today's tour will lead us from the Peljesac Peninsula to Korcula Island. Korcula Island is the sixth-largest island in Croatia, known for its dense forestry and natural beauty. The main settlements on the island are the towns of Korcula, Vela Luka, and Blato. Within Korcula Island, tour members can find Korcula Old Town, where medieval squares, churches, palaces, and houses can be seen. The old town may be small, but it is very well preserved. The layout and construction of the old town date back to the second half of the 13th century, laid out in a shape resembling a fishbone to protect against the sea's strong winds. When exploring Korcula, be sure to witness the Korcula Town Walls. Built for defensive purposes, the walls represent Medieval architecture at its finest, making Korcula Town one of Croatia’s best preserved fortified towns. Other sites to see when touring the walls are monuments such as Zakerjan Tower, Kanavelic Tower, Sea Gate Tower, Small and Large Governor’s Tower, Revelin Tower, and All Saints Tower. Other attractions worth visiting include St. Mark’s Cathedral, which is one of the most iconic monuments on the island; Vela Spila Cave, which is one of the most important archaeological prehistoric sites in Europe; the Marco Polo Museum; and the Museum of the Centre for Culture. As for beaches, there are many to choose from; the most popular include the sandy beach of Vela Przina, the picturesque Pupnatska Luka, and the quiet Bilin Zal. The final location on today's tour is the Peljesac Peninsula’s Zuljana Bay. It is located on the southern coast of Peljesac, connected to the mainland by a coastal road via the town of Ston. The southern Adriatic village is known for its beautiful pebbled beaches, and one of the largest lies in the bay of Zuljana. It is also well loved for its seaside architecture and tranquil atmosphere. Here a post office, a small shop, restaurants, cafes, and two diving centers can be found. There are also several historical attractions to visit such as Sv. Martin Baroque Church built on the foundations of a medieval church, Sv. Nikola Chapel, and the ruins of Roman graves.

Today we will sail from Korcula Island to Mljet Island. Mljet Island is one of Croatia's greenest areas, and here tour members can enjoy clear sea waters, a gentle sandy shoreline, and a rich underwater life. We will also visit Mljet National Park, which is full of natural beauty. Within the park tour members can admire St. Mary Island, where a 12th-century Benedictine monastery can be seen. Declared a national park in the 1960s, this destination is a very popular location for travelers due to the two saltwater lakes of Veliko Jezero and Malo Jezero, also known as the big and small lakes. The lakes were formed more than 10,000 years ago and are linked together by a small channel and to the sea by a larger channel. Both of these lakes have their own ecosystem, complete with a special species of jellyfish that is completely harmless to humans. The species is 24 million years old and cannot be found anywhere else in the world. We will now visit Sipan Island, which is the largest of the main Elafiti islands. It has a peaceful atmosphere and a landscape that has not been affected by mass tourism. There are many churches to discover here, such as the 11th-century St. Peter’s Church and the Church of the Holy Spirit. While exploring, we will visit Sipan Island’s Sipanska Luka. Here, we will be greeted by crystal-clear sea water, scented pine woods, rich history, and many ancient myths and legends. Sipanska Luka is the main port of Sipan, making it a popular destination for sailors due to its protected harbor. There are numerous architectural monuments to discover such as the remains of the Church of St. Peter, the Church of Sveti Ivan, the pre-Romantic Church of Sveti Mihovil, &nbsp;a Romantic-Gothic house and a Gothic tower.

Today's trip will take us from Mljet Island to Dubrovnik. First, we will make a stop at Kolocep Island. This wonderful island is car-free, simple, and beautiful. Two villages can be found here: Donje Celo is on the north-west coast, and Gornje Celo is to the south-west. Both villages showcase sandy and pebbled beaches, where kayaking, swimming, and snorkeling are favored activities. Between the two villages, lies an interesting pathway where ruins of pre-Romanesque churches have been left to the elements. We will now move onto Dubrovnik, a Croatian city on the Dalmatian Coast, renowned for its exquisite historical attractions. Here there are many things for tour members to do and see, such as visiting Dubrovnik City Walls and Dubrovnik's clocktower, or partaking in one of the most popular adrenaline-pumping activities, cliff diving at Buza Beach. The medieval city attracts many visitors due to its well-preserved buildings and landmarks, such as the Franciscan Monastery, the Church of Saint Blaise, Dubrovnik Cathedral, and Sponza Palace Dubrovnik. Stradun Street is the main street in Dubrovnik’s Old Town. It stretches from Pile Gate, which is the western entrance to the old town, all the way to the old town’s port. In ancient times, it was a channel that divided the small island and was later filled to create the main town’s street. For 50 years, it has been completely pedestrianized and acts as the main local promenade, full of cafes, shops, and restaurants to enjoy. Another site worth visiting is Srd Mountain. It is the most scenic viewpoint in all of Dubrovnik. From the top of the 412-meter hill, visitors can see spectacular views of the old town and the glistening Adriatic Sea. The top of the mountain can be reached either by car, hiking, or cable cars.

On the final day of the tour, we will continue to explore Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik was once known as Ragusa during the rule of the Byzantine Empire. After much destruction and devastation, Dubrovnik reformed, becoming one of the most popular destinations in Croatia, attracting visitors from all over the world. It welcomes tourists during the summer season, showcasing its culture, spectacular scenery, calm, crystal-clear waters, and unique history. Here, tour members can delve into the city's influential historical sites, such as the city's striking stone defense walls or the Minceta and Boka fortresses, along with churches and monasteries. One of the most popular attractions in this area is overlooking the beauty below on a trip on the Dubrovnik cable cars, which provide sensational views of the whole city and the shimmering Adriatic waters. Many of the evening entertainment venues in Dubrovnik are mainly outdoors and are situated between the historical Old Town and Gruz, which is known locally as Bourbon Street. The city offers everything from a few lively clubs to late-night Michelin-starred restaurants, many bars and cafes, and intimate wine tasting venues with a chilled ambiance and enjoyable entertainment.
