Historical Remains and Natural Beauty From Marmaris to Kas

Marmaris is a port city on the Mediterranean coast, located in the Mugla Province of southwest Turkey. The tour will depart at 4:00 pm from Marmaris. The first stop on our agenda will be Marmaris Castle and Archaeology Museum. The 16th century castle has spectacular panoramic views and the museum has seven indoor areas, where many antique ornaments and art galleries can be seen. The tour will then guide us to Hafsa Sultan Caravanserai, which lies to the north of Marmaris Castle. The Ottoman structure was built in 1545 and was once used as a medieval inn for soldiers and travelers. The upper section is decorated with original painted arches, and many boutique cafes and souvenir shops can also be found.

Located on the coastal shores of Koycegiz lies Ekincik Bay. This picturesque location has an abundance of nature to admire including a golden sandy beach and pine forested hills. Known as one of the prettiest bays in the area it has deep, crystal clear waters and underwater caves to discover. It is also a protected area for Loggerhead turtles and home to a variety of marine life. Tour members can enjoy a relaxing day of sunbathing on the spectacular beach whilst swimming or snorkeling in the refreshing crystal clear waters.

The triangular-shaped Tersane Island which is the largest within the Gulf of Fethiye will be our first stop for today. The uninhabited island has ruins of an old house and a church and is surrounded by pristine waters. The last stop on our tour for today will lead us to Cleopatra Baths, home to ancient legends, golden sand and mineral waters that are said to be beneficial for healthy skin.

Fethiye, a district within the Mugla Province that has many areas to be explored. Popular sites such as Lycian rock tombs, natural attractions such as parks, and historical locations such as castles can be found, along with pleasing swimming spots and beaches. The area's central harbor is in close proximity to many small shops, eateries and a vibrant nightlife scene.

Oludeniz Blue Lagoon is famous for its magnificent shades of turquoise and aquamarine seas and golden white sands, it provides a perfect location for a relaxing morning. We will then continue down south to Butterfly Valley, which is home to diverse species of butterflies, a waterfall at the head of the valley's canyon and a remote beach. The tour will then lead us northeast to St Nicholas Island, also known as Gemiler Island. In this uninhabited area ancient vaults, tombs and churches that date back to the 4th to 6th centuries can be discovered.

Within the district of Kalkan, our first stop will be the sheltered village of Yesilkoy, also known as Firnaz Bay, and Aquarium Bay. This peaceful location is full of nature and a small beach that resembles an aquarium. It is most famous for its rejuvenating mud baths that are believed to assist with skin healing. The tour will then proceed to the town of Kas. This town offers gorgeous beaches and crystal-clear seas surrounded by sunken ships, underwater valleys, and sea creatures. There are also many bays, ancient cities, impressive shopping opportunities and a colorful nightlife to be discovered.

Simena, also known as the village of Kalekoy, will be first on the agenda for today. The remains of the Titus thermal baths lie submerged in the sea along with a small theater. &nbsp;A path known as part of the Lycian Way hike will lead to the top of the village, where remains from the Byzantine-era and Simena Castle can be seen. The views of the bay and Kekova Island in the backdrop are simply spectacular. The tour will continue northwest to Ucagiz Village. This picturesque village is Instagram-worthy with nature, history and the blue Mediterranean Sea all in one spot. Restaurants serving delicious seafood and ancient ruins that are scattered around the village can also be discovered.

The small island of Kekova, lies southwest of Demre in Antalya. This uninhabited island was once part of the Lycian City and several archaeological remains are scattered around the area. On the northern side of the Island is the Kekova Sunken City where the underwater ruins of Dolchiste, also known as the ancient Lycian settlement, can be seen. The tour will then proceed to the sheltered Gokkaya Bay where our members can enjoy a refreshing swim. The bay has calm, deep, crystal-clear waters full of marine life.

Within the Kekova region lies Kekova Aquarium Bay, a lagoon-like bay that is situated between two islands. The waters are crystal-clear, 12 meters deep, and there is an abundance of marine life occupying the waters. The tour will then proceed to the town of Kalkan, known for its beautiful beaches, panoramic rooftop restaurants and chic beach clubs. Tour members can discover many attractions such as the ruins of an ancient Lycian City.

Just off the Lycian Coast lies Karacaoren Island, a partially sheltered bay with several ancient ruins from the Byzantine period including a church and a well-preserved fresco of St. Christopher. The waters are cool due to the underwater springs making it a refreshing place to swim or snorkel. The tour will then head westwards to the secluded cove of Merdivenli Bay, home to large natural caves, steep canyon walls, fascinating rocks that have steps carved into them and a beach.

Located between Fethiye and Dalyan is the small town of Gocek. This protected town is known for its marinas, its surrounding 12 islands and stunning views. The town is also home to many historical sites, restaurants, cafes and shops. The tour will then guide us to Gocek Island, &nbsp;where tour members can relax on the natural beach surrounded by fragrent pine trees. The final stop for today will be the Yassica Islands which consists of several small uninhabited islets, they are situated very close together and it is easy to swim between some of them.

On the Gulf of Fethiye is Bedri Rahmi Bay, named after a Turkish writer and painter who painted a fish on a rock within the bay. There are many hidden Lycian rock tombs that can be found. Domuz Island, also known as Prince Island, is a well-sheltered area which was once occupied by pigs. It is now a scenic tranquil island that is surrounded by lush verdant trees and remains of ancient churches and houses that date back from the Byzantine period to World War I. The last stop for today will lead us to Aga Limani Bay which features two bays. The bays have incredibly clear and cool waters, a hiking trail with spectacular views and historical ruins.

Kadirga Bay, is a beautiful rocky reef and is a renowned diving point where the remains of a Hellenistic ship and underwater amphorae can be discovered. We will then travel northwest to the village of Turunc, the sand and shingle beaches have calm, sheltered waters and Turunc’s village contains local shops, souvenirs, and waterfront restaurants. The next stop for today is Cennet Island, also known as Yildiz Island, which is famous for its caves. The tour will then take us back to Marmaris where members can explore the area and enjoy the waterfront nightlife.

On the final day of the tour, we will depart from Marmaris at 9:00 am. The port city is surrounded by magnificent turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea, and there are plenty of sites to discover, including Marmaris Old Town, Marmaris Grand Bazaar, and Marmaris National Park. Marmaris Harbour is the heart and soul of the popular tourist destination as it is lively both day and night. There are many restaurants, pubs, bars and shops along Kordon Street, Barbaros Street and Marmaris Promenade to explore.
