Luxurious Marinas, Greek Islands and Fascinating Ancient History

Alimos Marina is one of the largest marinas in Greece, located south-west of Athens, 15 kilometers from the city center. It is also the most historic marina, with 1100 permanent berths. Our tour will depart at 4:00 pm from Alimos Marina, and the first location that we will visit is Athens. Named after the goddess Athena, it is the capital and largest city in Greece. Often referred to as an open-air museum, it showcases ancient history, magnificent natural treasures, and a vibrant nightlife. The city is also known for its many luxurious marinas, stunning gardens, shopping centers, and extensive range of water sports. There are many wonderful beach and bay areas to explore on the southern and northeastern sides of the city's coastline, along with many historic attractions. While exploring, we will visit the Parthenon, which is situated at the center of the Acropolis. The ancient temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous landmarks within Athens. Here, tour members can witness impressive architecture and discover the ruins of this magnificent structure that was dedicated to the goddess Athena. Tour participants will also have the opportunity to visit the Acropolis of Athens, which is situated on top of a rocky hill. It showcases the fantastic architecture of one of the world's oldest civilizations. Tour members can expect to discover citadels, temples, and monuments, each of which showcases ancient Doric and Ionic styles.

Today's trip will lead us from Alimos Marina to Aegina Island. The most popular place to visit on Aegina Island is the town of Aegina, known for its beautiful scenery and traditional charm. Here, tour members can explore an orphanage founded by Kapodistrias during the Greek Revolution, the hill of Kolona, where a column from the Temple of Apollo can be seen, and the Archaeological Museum of Aegina, which showcases exhibits such as the marble Sphinx. The final stop for today will take us to one of the island’s most popular tourist sites, the Temple of Aphaia. Dedicated to the goddess Athena and built in 480 BC, it is described as one of the most magnificent ancient architectural wonders of ancient Greece. Here, tour members can witness the original 32 Doric columns, well-preserved ruins of the main temple, painted sculptures illustrating scenes of battles fought by heroes, and a base that once held a wooden statue of Aphaia. Within the island, there are also more secluded areas to visit, such as Souvala, Vagia, Marathon, and Perdika village.

Today's tour will take us from Aegina Island to Poros Island. Poros Island sits in the heart of the Saronic Gulf. This little Aegean gem is easily accessible by boat and is a popular destination for a weekend break. The thriving vegetation, signature Clock Tower landmark, lovely beaches, and quaint villages make this island a wonderful place to visit. In the center of the island, there are many taverns, restaurants, and relaxing venues to enjoy. There may not be a huge amount of choice in regards to beaches, but the beach areas on the island portray quality. Askeli, Love Bay, and Neorio are the most popular; however, tour members can also find more secluded bay areas around the island’s coastline.

Today's adventure will lead us from Poros Island to Dokos Island. Dokos Island is small, untouched by tourism and was once an important port in ancient times. Here, tour members can admire breathtaking scenery, thriving nature, and enjoy a refreshing swim on one of the small beaches. As for its history, there are remains of a castle to explore, and the island's ancient lighthouse can also be seen, which was once used to monitor ships that were crossing through the Saronic Gulf. Our final destination for today will be Spetses Island. Spetses Island lies in the heart of the Saronic Gulf and has a lot to offer its visitors in regards to beaches, sightseeing, and relaxation. This beautiful island stands out due to its elegant design and fabulous Venetian architecture. The location is completely car-free, so wandering around the picturesque streets and exploring all the island has to offer is a delight. Within Dapia lies the island's port. Here, tour members can find a good variety of cafes and bars, along with the Spetses Museum, Anargyros Mansion, Saint Nikolaos Spetses Holy Orthodox Church, and several other must-see attractions. As for beaches, there are many to choose from; Vrellos, Agia Marina, and Agia Paraskevi are some of the most popular, all of which provide the perfect environments to enjoy a refreshing swim.

Today's trip will guide us from Dokos Island to Hydra Island. Hydra Island is situated in the heart of the Argo-Saronic Gulf and lies in close proximity to the capital of Athens. This car-free island has a charming atmosphere and has become popular with international holiday makers, along with becoming a retreat for many celebrities and TV personalities. Classy stone mansions, narrow alleys, churches, and little shops make up the picturesque waterfront. There are many things to do and see here, such as visiting wonderful museums, exploring unique villages, discovering traditional ways of life, and experiencing local delicacies. As for the island's wonderful beaches, the most popular ones include Vlichos, Kaminia, Bisti, and Agios Nikolaos.

Today's journey will lead us from Hydra Island to Aegina Island, where tour members can explore the capital and main port of Agia Marina. There are a wide variety of cafes, restaurants, traditional taverns, and shops to discover. Along with popular areas, there are also more secluded places, such as Souvala, Vagia, and Perdika. Several beaches can also be found on this island; some are small and secluded, and some are larger and have a variety of facilities, such as Souvala Beach, Agia Marina Beach, and Marathon (Aegina Island), where we will spend some time enjoying the sandy shoreline and clear waters. As for historical sites, there are many significant areas to explore, including the Temple of Athena Aphaia, the Temple of Apollo, and the Temple of Elanios Zeus.

Today's tour will take us from Aegina Island to Alimos Marina. The first stop on our agenda is Aegina Island’s Perdika Village and Bay. Located 9 kilometers south of the main town of Aegina, Perdika is extremely picturesque, maintaining its traditional look and characteristics. Here, tour members can enjoy swimming and snorkeling in the bay's crystal-clear waters. This tranquil area is unspoiled and is a hot spot for nature lovers due to its thriving greenery, natural scenery, and wide variety of marine life. We will now take a trip back to Alimos Marina. This historic marina is the perfect location for sea lovers and yachting enthusiasts. The facilities available here provide guests with a pleasant and enjoyable experience, such as restaurants, a swimming pool, and the historic Nautical Club of Kalamaki. Its geographical location provides easy access to other areas such as our final destination of Athens.

On the final day of the tour, we will depart from Athens at 9:00 a.m. Athens is situated in the region of Attica, off the coast of the Saronic Gulf. It is the historic origin of many aspects of western civilization, as it has one of the longest histories in the world. It has been inhabited for more than 3,000 years, leaving many historical attractions for visitors to explore, such as the Temple of Olympian Zeus and ancient ruins such as Panathenaic Stadium and the Acropolis Fortification Walls. The city attracts visitors from all over the world, showcasing its mythology, history, culture, shopping, and vibrant nightlife scene. The area is a magnet for yachts and boats that arrive at the luxurious marinas to enjoy the glistening, clear sea and the area’s stunning beaches and bays.
