UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and Fascinating Croatian Islands 

On the first day of the tour, our journey will lead us from Split to Primosten. Split is the second-largest city in Croatia and is the perfect location for history enthusiasts. Once known as Aspalathos in ancient times, it was founded as a Greek colony in the 3rd or 2nd century BC, becoming a prominent settlement around 650 CE. Many archaeological sites and historical buildings here fall under the protection of UNESCO heritage, such as Diocletian's Palace, which we will explore later on during the tour.&nbsp;Our final stop for today will be the small town of Primosten. The picturesque seaside town is located in the south of Croatia, situated in the middle of the Adriatic coast between the popular towns of Sibenik and Trogir. The magnificent circular old town of Primosten was once an island up until the 16th century. The settlement was guarded by stone towers, walls, and a moveable bridge that connected it to the mainland. After the bridge was replaced by an embankment, the town became part of the mainland and therefore became a peninsula. It is one of the top holiday destinations in Croatia, attracting visitors with its unique architecture and spectacular scenery. There is lots to see and explore here, such as wandering through the ancient streets, visiting the Church of St. George, admiring the Our Lady of Loretto landmark on Gaj Hill, or visiting wonderful beaches such as Raduca Beach. This small town also has a vibrant nightlife.&nbsp;Tour members can find a variety of venues, from high-energy clubs to cocktail bars and restaurants.

Today's adventure will guide us from Primosten to Kornati National Park. First on the agenda for today is a visit to Dugi Otok. This 45-kilometer-long island is known for its relaxing ambiance, vineyards, and orchards. Here, the spectacular Saharun Beach can also be found. Often referred to as having Caribbean characteristics, this beach has a breathtaking combination of white sand and crystal-clear waters, surrounded by scented pine trees.&nbsp;Just south of Dugi Otok lies a collection of approximately 150 islands and islets that make up Kornati National Park. Tour members will witness a nautical paradise with breathtaking scenery, nature, and beauty. Our final stop for today will be Telascica Bay (Telascica Natural Park) on the southern part of Dugi Otok, well known for its coves, small islands, and magnificent cliffs.&nbsp;There is a variety of thriving vegetation and animals to discover here, such as crabs, sea urchins, coral, sponges, falcons, and sometimes even dolphins.

On today's tour, we will travel from Kornati National Park to Losinj Island. Losinj Island is situated in the Kvarner Gulf. It is a popular destination for holidaymakers due to its wonderful natural reserves, rich historical sites, and fabulous beaches. The island is formed from dolomite rocks and chalk limestone. Along with over 1100 plant species, 230 medical herbs, and exotic plants including banana, lemon, and eucalyptus.&nbsp;Whilst exploring Losinj, tour members will have the opportunity to visit the Museum of Apoxyomenos which is dedicated to one fantastic exhibit. The bronze statue of an athlete that was discovered underwater by a Belgian tourist. It is an impressive piece of art, representing the story of an athlete of perfect physical proportions.&nbsp;Continuing on with our tour, we will now visit Losinj Aromatic Garden. This beautiful garden is full of scents and smells from over 250 wild plants. Tour members can also admire unique garden decor and a warm and welcoming restaurant that produces homemade food and drinks. To conclude our tour for today, we will visit the two main settlements on the island. Losinj Island’s Veli Losinj, is the quieter settlement, where many luxurious villas and well-manicured gardens can be seen.&nbsp;Losinj Island’s Mali Losinj, is the larger settlement where tour participants can visit monasteries, churches, ancient ruins, and Renaissance buildings. After a long day of exploring, there are a variety of taverns with live music, vibrant beach bars, nightclubs, and cozy bars to enjoy.

The tour for today will lead us from Losinj Island to Zadar. Zadar is a historic town home to many Roman ruins, medieval churches, and wonderful museums. On our tour of Zadar, members will see many magnificent sights. First, we will visit the Zadar Roman Forum, believed to have been constructed between the 1st century BC and the 3rd century AD. It was once the heart of religious life, with the Church of St. Donat dominating one side. Tour members can witness the ruins of temples, a Roman column, altars, and hollows that were used during sacrificial deaths.&nbsp;We will now visit Zadar Old Town, where Croatian history and modern creations can be seen on every corner. On the western corner of the peninsula, Zadar's outstanding Sea Organ can be found. Created by a local architect, this experimental musical attraction is situated under marble stairs that go down into the sea. It has a system of pipes and whistles that create sounds from the sea's waves and air pressure.&nbsp;The architect also created a wonderful spot to watch the sun go down. The Greeting to the Sun is one of Zadar's most popular attractions. The 22-meter-wide circle lies on the pavement, filled with 300 multilayered glass plates that collect the sun’s energy during the day, producing a magical light show at sunset, fulfilling the aim of simulating the solar system.

Today, we will travel from Zadar to Sibenik. Our first stop will be the small town of Skradin, situated in a protected bay on the Krka River, where freshwater mixes with salt water from the Adriatic Sea. The most popular attractions here for tour members to explore are the picturesque harbor and the enchanting old town. Skradin is also referred to as the gateway to Krka National Park, which showcases a wonderful natural landscape and breathtaking waterfalls.&nbsp;Moving on, we will now visit Sibenik, one of the most interesting cities on the coast of Dalmatia. There are many things to do and see on this fairytale-like island, from exploring Sibenik Old Town, which is built up a hill with more than 2,800 steps, to relaxing on wonderful beaches such as Banj Beach. To end today's tour, we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of St. Jacob's Cathedral. Referred to as one of the most significant and beautiful architectural achievements in Croatia, its construction lasted more than a hundred years. Built during the 15th and 16th centuries, the structure was made entirely out of stone. One site not to be missed within this glorious building is the baptistery.&nbsp;Here, an exquisitely carved ceiling and large font supported by three angels can be seen.

Today's adventure will lead us from Sibenik to Vis Island. Vis Island is one of the smallest islands in Croatia, home to several towns and tiny villages. The two most popular being Vis Town and Komiza. When exploring the island, tour members can find many mysterious bays, underwater caves, an archaeological museum, a fishermen's museum, and shipwrecks. The island is also a gastronomic hotspot, where many fresh fish restaurants can be found serving local delicacies. As for its beaches, there are many dotted all around the island. The most popular seashores include Stiniva, which is said to be the best beach in Europe; Srebrna, known locally as the silver beach; Stoncica beach, home to a sandy landscape and wonderful underwater reefs; and the sandy paradise of Zaglav.&nbsp;Tour members will now have the opportunity to visit the remains of a Roman Thermal Baths (Vis Island) and the Vis Archaeological Museum, which showcases exhibitions from the Greek and Roman eras. Items such as pottery, jewelry, and sculptures, such as a 400 BC bronze head of a Greek goddess, can be seen. Other fascinating sites worth visiting include Castle Grimaldi, the Church of St. Mary, Fort George III and Tito’s Cave.

Today's journey will guide us from Vis Island to Split. Firstly, we will visit Bisevo Island, which is located five nautical miles southwest of Vis Island. Since the independence of Croatia, it has slowly started to welcome local and foreign tourism, showcasing its traditional values and cultural heritage. Although the island's surface area is only 6 square kilometers, the nature that has flourished in this location is rich, full of mysterious caves and sandy beaches.&nbsp;There are 26 known caves carved into the limestone by the sea's waves, with the most popular being the Blue Cave. We will now visit &nbsp;Bisevo Blue Cave, also known as the Blue Grotto. It is located on the eastern side of the island and is one of the most outstanding attractions in the Adriatic. The waterlogged, sea-sculpted cave is filled with theatrical colors and shapes. The reflection of the sunlight brightens the cave, giving it an aquamarine and silver appearance.&nbsp;Moving on, we will travel to the very popular tourist center of Split. While exploring, we will visit Diocletian's Palace, the main attraction and the heart of the city's history. It is one of the most imposing ancient Roman structures in existence today and is the perfect place to learn about the city's past and architecture. Tour members can find many places to explore here, especially within Split Old Town, where its labyrinthine-style streets and wonderful waterfront are thriving with bars, shops, and restaurants.

On the final day of the tour, we will depart at 9:00 a.m. Split lies on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea. It is an important transport hub and a popular summer tourist destination, as the city is linked with the Adriatic Islands and the Apennine Peninsula. Here, tour members will have the opportunity to explore Split in more detail. There are many things to do here, such as visiting the Bell Tower of Saint Domnius Cathedral, taking cable cart trips leading to Marjan Hill, and enjoying a leisurely walk through the Old Town or the Promenade. This wonderful city is much more than a paradise for history lovers; it is also an excellent venue for those who enjoy gourmet food and fine wines, concerts, festivals, bars, and nightclubs. For those of you looking for a relaxing end to the tour, the beaches of Trstenik, Bacvice, Kastelet, Kasjuni and Bene provide wonderful environments for a refreshing swim, which is quite unique for a city of approximately 200,000 residents.
