The Zadar Blue Cruise is an interesting adventure, combining rich history with modern creations and natural wonders with technological illusions. 

Fine Architecture and Cultural Heritage on the Adriatic Coast

Our tour will start in the unique city of Zadar. Referred to as an atmospheric time machine and described as an open-air museum, it showcases brilliant architecture and cultural heritage of the eastern Adriatic coast. This fabulous city was once the capital of Dalmatia. It is full of romance and spirit, home to a friendly community and modern creations that are full of diversity. Within Zadar, there's lots to see and experience, including exploring Zadar's central square, witnessing fascinating art, visiting optical illusion museums, churches, and historical locations. As for its nightlife, many relaxed and humble venues can be found. The winding ancient streets of the Old Town are full of bars and restaurants, all showcasing incredible views of the Adriatic Sea. For those who prefer something more livelier, nightclubs can be found on the eastern side of the Old Town.

On the second day of the tour, we will travel from Zadar to Pasman Island. Pasman Island is located south of Zadar, forming part of the Zadar archipelago, which is separated from the mainland by the Pasman Channel. The island is known for its rapid stream, which changes course every 6 hours, making the sea one of the clearest in the Adriatic. All over the island, there are sandy beaches to enjoy and places to visit. In the Illyric town of Gradin, historical fortifications and the statue of St. Michael from the 12th century can be seen. Within Tkon, on the beautiful hill of Cokovac, lies the Benedictine monastery of St. Cosmas and Damien, dating back to the year 1125. In the small town of Kraj, there is a Franciscan monastery that was built in 1390. The monastery was reconstructed in 1557 and also contains a museum where several pieces, such as the paintings of Madonna with Child and St. John the Baptist, are kept. For tour participants who enjoy the outdoors, walking through the wonderful pinewoods, admiring vineyards and olive groves, and enjoying time on one of the numerous beautiful beaches are also favored activities. While exploring, we will visit Pasman Island’s Zdrelac. It is the largest town on the island, home to four magnificent beaches and the Zdrelac bridge that connects Pasman with Ugljan. Here, tour members can partake in numerous walking, cycling, or running trails through the wonderful pine forests, participate in water activities, and witness indigenous stone construction in the old stone center. Other areas worth visiting are Matlovac Beach and the 13th-century church of Sveti Luke.

Today's journey will lead us from Pasman Island to Primosten. Primosten is a picturesque seaside town located in the south of Croatia. It is situated in the middle of the Adriatic coast between the popular towns of Sibenik and Trogir. The magnificent circular old town of Primosten was once an island up until the 16th century. The settlement was guarded by stone towers, walls, and a moveable bridge that connected it to the mainland. After the bridge was replaced by an embankment, the town became part of the mainland and therefore became a peninsula. It is one of the top holiday destinations in Croatia, attracting visitors with its unique architecture and spectacular scenery. There is lots to see and explore here, such as wandering through the ancient streets, visiting the Church of St. George, admiring the Our Lady of Loretto landmark on Gaj Hill, or visiting wonderful beaches such as Raduca Beach. This small town also has a vibrant nightlife. Tour members can find a variety of venues, from high-energy clubs to relaxing cocktail bars and restaurants.

Today's journey will guide us from Primosten to Vis Island. Until 1989, Vis Island was off-limits to tourists due to the army base that resided here. The island has two small towns, both of which are situated at the foot of two large bays. Vis town lies on the northeast side of the island, and the capital of Komiza town is in the southwest. Tour members can find many mysterious bays, underwater caves, an archaeological museum, and shipwrecks. The island is a gastronomic hotspot, where many fresh fish restaurants can be found serving local delicacies. We will now visit Vis Islands’s Komiza. It is a typical Mediterranean fishing village, attracting tourists due to its beautiful beaches, narrow roads, and lovely harbor. The town is located in a deep bay on the western side of the island. Although situated just 10 kilometers away from Vis Town, it is completely separated from the rest of the island by the 587-meter-high Hum Hill. The town is extremely proud of its fishermen's history; tour members can also experience this by visiting the Fisherman's Museum located in the old Venetian tower on the promenade.

Today we will travel from Vis Island to Hvar Island. Hvar Island is referred to by many as the Queen of the Croatian Islands and one of the top 10 most beautiful islands in the world. It is home to the most UNESCO-listed heritage of any island in the world. Its rich variety of history, culture, architecture, nightlife, and natural treasures make this destination a tourist hotspot. There are many towns and villages all over the island to explore, each with its own unique charm, such as Stari Grad, Milna, Hvar town, and Jelsa. This island has it all, from spectacular beaches, delicious Mediterranean food, indigenous grapes creating the finest wines, to a wide variety of water and land sports. Here, tour members will have the opportunity to see rich Venetian architecture and cultural heritage sites, along with the island's iconic waterfront, also known as Riva, which is among the most luxurious on the Adriatic.

Today's adventure will take us from Hvar Island to Solta Island. Solta Island is an island of Illyrian legends, ancient history, medieval poetry, rich traditions, honey production, and wonderful beaches. At only 19 kilometers long and 5 kilometers wide, the island is home to eight charming villages, including Gornje Selo, Srednje Selo, Donje Selo, Grohote, and the old ports of Rogac, Necujam, Stomorska, and Maslinica. On today's trip, we will visit the old fishing village of Solta Island’s Maslinica. Known for its beautiful little marina, lovely restaurants, and great beaches. Many stone houses and small pebbled beaches can be admired here, and it is a wonderful place to watch the sun set. Here, tour members can also find Maslinica Castle. It was built by the Alberti family in 1708 and has since been restored as a modern hotel with a luxury marina.

Today, we will sail from Solta Island to Sibenik. Sibenik is one of the most interesting cities on the coast of Dalmatia. There are many things to do and see on this fairytale-like island, from exploring Sibenik Old Town, which is built up a hill with more than 2,800 steps, to relaxing on wonderful beaches such as Banj Beach. One of the most visited attractions here is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of St. Jacob's Cathedral. Referred to as one of the most significant and beautiful architectural achievements in Croatia, its construction lasted more than a hundred years. Built during the 15th and 16th centuries, the structure was made entirely out of stone. One site not to be missed within this glorious building is the baptistery. Here, an exquisitely carved ceiling and large font supported by three angels can be seen.

On the final day of the tour, we will sail from Sibenik to Zadar. Zadar is a historic town home to many Roman ruins, medieval churches, and wonderful museums. When exploring, tour members can find many magnificent sights, such as the Zadar Roman Forum. It is believed to have been constructed between the 1st century BC and the 3rd century AD and was once the heart of religious life, with the Church of St. Donat dominating one side. Tour members can witness the ruins of temples, a Roman column, altars, and hollows that were used during sacrificial deaths. Within Zadar Old Town, Croatian history and modern creations can be seen on every corner. On the western corner of the peninsula, Zadar's outstanding Sea Organ can be found. Created by a local architect, this experimental musical attraction is situated under marble stairs that go down into the sea. It has a system of pipes and whistles that create sounds from the sea's waves and air pressure. The architect also created a wonderful spot to watch the sun go down. The Greeting to the Sun is one of Zadar's most popular attractions. The 22-meter-wide circle lies on the pavement, filled with 300 multilayered glass plates that collect the sun’s energy during the day, producing a magical light show at sunset, fulfilling the aim of simulating the solar system.
