Popular Yacht Charter

The picturesque island of Sifnos is an idyllic destination tucked away in the heart of the Aegean Sea, and it is the home of Kastro, a charming village nestled on the eastern coast of the island. Kastro, which translates to "castle" in Greek, was the former capital of Sifnos and is now a beautifully preserved medieval village 5 kilometers east of Apollonia. It is perched on a rocky hill overlooking the sea, providing an enchanting backdrop for yacht enthusiasts who seek both tranquility and cultural exploration.

Anchorage Info

Kastro is arranged on top of a steep hill on the eastern coast of Sifnos, at an altitude of 80 meters. Below the hill, there is a small bay that was historically used as a port, and today, visiting yachtsmen can temporarily moor here. The area is exposed to the Meltemi and has little natural protection, so it is suitable for anchorage only in calm weather. Additionally, there are no established services for visiting vessels, so boaters should come prepared. The nearby harbor of Platis Gialos has essential services and is a good stop before or after Kastro.
