Natural Treasures, Historical Sites and Exciting Swimming Spots

On the first day of the tour we will travel from Dubrovnik to Sipan Island. Tour members will depart at 4:00 pm from Dubrovnik. The city is located on the southern coast of Dalmatia, surrounded by the glistening Adriatic Sea. Also referred to as the pearl of the Adriatic, it is known for its stone city walls and fortresses that surround Dubrovnik’s Old Town. It has many interesting medieval structures to visit within its walls, such as the Church of St. Blaise and the Franciscan Church and Monastery. This beautiful historic city is also a well-known filming location for productions such as Game of Thrones. Our day will conclude at Sipan Island, which is the closest island to Dubrovnik. It has a peaceful atmosphere and hasn't been affected by mass tourism, even though it is the largest out of the main Elafiti islands. Here tour members can explore the villages of Sudjuradj, on the southeastern tip of the island, and Sipanska Luka, on the western side, each centered around beautiful bays. There are many churches to discover such as the 11th century St Peter’s Church and the Church of the Holy Spirit, along with remains of summer houses that were once occupied by some of the Dubrovnik aristocracy. There are also a few restaurants serving island delicacies and many olive fields to admire.

&nbsp;Today we will sail from Sipan Island to Korcula Island which is the sixth-largest island in Croatia known for its dense forestry. Within Korcula Island lies Korcula Old Town where medieval squares, churches, palaces and houses can be seen. The old town may be small but it is very well preserved, the layout and construction of the Old Town dates back to the second half of the 13th century, laid out in a shape resembling a fishbone to protect against the sea's strong winds. Tour members can visit many attractions here such as the Land Gate, Revelin Tower, Sea Gate, St Mark’s Cathedral, Town Museum and Marco Polo’s House.

Today our journey will guide us from Korcula Island to Lastovo Island. Lastovo Island's population is less than 1,000 and is just 18 square miles in size. Up until 1988 the island was closed to visitors when it fell under Yugoslavia rule. As the island hasn't been touched by mass tourism it has a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere with little amenities than other Dalmatian islands. Lastovo and its surrounding islands make up one of the eleven nature parks in Croatia. The Lastovo Nature Park is the second most forested area in Croatia, full of thriving vegetation and nature and is most definetly a spectacular site to see. As for beaches, many have rocky or pebbled textures such as Skrivena Luka on the south of the island and Zaklopatica in the north. As earlier mentioned there are only a handful of amenities on the island which include a few restaurants producing local delicacies and a tourist office that can help guide tour members to one of the many walking or hiking trails. One of the hikes available is the Hike to the top of Hum Hill which is the highest point of the island. From here the island of Palagruza, Mljet and sometimes even Monte Gargano in Italy can be seen.

Today's tour will lead us from Lastovo Island to Hvar Island. Hvar Island is one of Croatia's crown jewels in terms of tourism, it is home to the most UNESCO heritage of any island in the world and has more sunny hours than any other in Europe. This island has it all from spectacular beaches, delicious Mediterranean food delicacies, indigenous grapes creating the finest wines and a wide variety of water and land sports to choose from.&nbsp;Here tour members can also find attractions such as Hvar Fortress which lies high above Hvar town. This medieval castle sits on the site of an ancient Illyrian settlement dating from before 500 BC. The views looking down over Hvar and the Pakleni Islands are just a magnificent sight to witness. The island is also rich in Venetian architecture, and cultural heritage, and tour members can visit many other areas such as the Franciscan Monastery, Veneranda, the Arsenal and theater, and Hanibal Lucic garden. The iconic waterfront, also known as Riva, is among the most luxurious on the Adriatic, where many superyachts can be seen and the best nightlife in the Adriatic can be found.

Today's journey will take us from Hvar Island to Scedro Island. Scedro Island is described by many as the most peaceful island in the Mediterranean. The two bays of Loviste and Monastir on the north shore, once played a significant role in history, offering protection and shelter to sailors. On this island tour members can discover remains of a Dominican monastery and church dedicated to St. Mary the Generous from 1456. It has an abundance of beauty on offer including many forest areas with lush Mediterranean pine trees and herbs, a beautiful beach and several lovely resturants. We will then visit the Pakleni Islands which are a chain of rocky islets located just off the coast of Hvar. Here tour members will find picturesque coves, stunning beaches, bars, and an abundance of spectacular nature. The Pakleni islands archipelago consists of 16 car free islands or islets, with the three most popular being Sveti Klement, Marinkovac and Jerolim. The islands are known for their clear waters, wonderful snorkeling and swimming opportunities, secluded beaches, breathtaking view points and quaint villages.

Today we will sail from Scedro Island to Mljet Island. Mljet Island is one of Croatia's greenest areas and here tour members can enjoy clear sea waters, a gentle sandy shoreline and a rich underwater sea life. We will also visit Mljet National Park which is full of natural beauty and nature. Declared as a national park in the 1960’s, this destination is a very popular location for travelers due to the two saltwater lakes of Veliko Jezero and Malo Jezero also known as the big and small lakes. The lakes were formed more than 10,000 years ago, and are linked together by a small channel, and to the sea by a larger channel. Both of these lakes have their own ecosystem complete with a special species of jellyfish, completely harmless to humans. The species are 24 million years old and cannot be found anywhere else in the world. At the big lake of Veliko Jezero, &nbsp;beautiful coral reefs can be found under the water and in the center lies St. Mary Island where a 12th-century Benedictine monastery can be seen. Both of these lakes are warmer than the sea, making them a wonderful place to swim and snorkel. The tour will then continue on to Polace, which was once an ancient trading port. It was well known as the safest port on the eastern side of the Adriatic due to its large bay that is sheltered by four small islets. The final stop on the agenda for today is Pomena, the small harbor and village is well known for its farming, fishing and touristic amenities. Here tour members can find restaurants, coffee shops, bars, souvenir shops and a lovely beach area.

Today's journey will lead us from Mljet Island to Slano. We will spend the day in Slano relaxing in a peaceful environment surrounded by clear Adriatic sea waters. The small town and bay is located 37 kilometers north of Dubrovnik and is one of the most picturesque places within the Dubrovnik Riviera. This stunning bay area is 2 kilometers long, complete with a fine beach, lush vegetation, olive groves, and historic monuments. Tour members can discover The Franciscan church of St. Hieronymus, and see the ruins of summer homes that were once occupied by Dubrovniks aristorcacy. Slano is the perfect destination for exploring south Dalmatia due to its gastronomy, historical and cultural heritage, beautiful beaches, restaurants, taverns and coffee bars.

On the final day of the tour, we will depart from Slano to Dubrovnik at 9:00 am. Dubrovnik was once known as Ragusa during the rule of the Byzantine Empire. After much destruction and devastation, Dubrovnik reformed, becoming one of the most popular destinations in Croatia and attracting visitors from all over the world. It welcomes tourists during the summer season, showcasing its culture, spectacular scenery, calm crystal-clear waters, and unique history. Here tour members can delve into the city's influential historical sites, such as the city's striking stone defense walls, or the Minceta and Boka fortresses, along with churches and Monasteries. One of the most popular attractions in this area is overlooking the beauty below, from a trip on the Dubrovnik cable cars, which provide sensational views of the whole city and the shimmering Adriatic waters
