Beautiful Natural Scenery, Rich History and Ancient Architecture

On the first day of the tour we will travel from Dubrovnik to Mljet Island. Tour members will depart at 4:00 pm from Dubrovnik. The city is located on the southern coast of Dalmatia, surrounded by the glistening Adriatic Sea. Also referred to as the pearl of the Adriatic, it is known for its stone city walls and fortresses that surround Dubrovnik’s Old Town. It has many interesting medieval structures to visit within its walls, such as the Church of St. Blaise and the Franciscan Church and Monastery. This beautiful historic city is also a well-known filming location for productions such as Game of Thrones. Our day will conclude at Mljet Island which is one of Croatia's greenest areas. Here tour members can enjoy clear sea waters, a gentle sandy shoreline and a rich underwater sea life. The island is well known for its salted lakes of Veliko and Malo Jezero, which are located at the north end of the island and are favored swimming spots for locals and tourists. In the north-western part of the island lies one of Croatian National Parks, full of natural beauty and nature, therefore, this destination is a very popular location for travelers.

&nbsp;Today's tour will guide us from Mljet Island to Hvar Island. Hvar Island is one of Croatia's crown jewels in terms of tourism, it is home to the most UNESCO heritage of any island in the world and has more sunny hours than any other in Europe. This island has it all from spectacular beaches, delicious Mediterranean food delicacies, indigenous grapes creating the finest wines and a wide variety of water and land sports to choose from.&nbsp;Here tour members will have the opportunity to visit Hvar Fortress (Fortica Fortress) which lies high above Hvar town. This medieval castle sits on the site of an ancient Illyrian settlement dating from before 500 BC. The views looking down over Hvar and the Pakleni Islands are just a magnificent sight to witness. The island is also rich in Venetian architecture, and cultural heritage, and tour members can visit many other areas such as the Franciscan Monastery, Veneranda, the Arsenal and theater, and Hanibal Lucic garden. The iconic waterfront, also known as Riva, is among the most luxurious on the Adriatic, where many superyachts can be seen and the best nightlife in the Adriatic can be found.

Carrying on with our tour of Hvar Island we will visit Hvar Island, Stari Grad which is the oldest town in Croatia. The town's stunning landscape is picturesque and postcard worthy. With a thousand year long history there are many significant sights to see such as quaint narrow streets, a Dominican monastery, small squares, museums, churches and ancient stone houses. The Old Town’s main attraction is Tvrdalj, a 16th century fortified castle, constructed by the poet Petar Hektorovic. The castle was completed with a fish pond that reflects the poet’s love for fish. His poem ‘Fishing and Fishermen's Complaints’ is still one of the most important literary texts in the Croatian language of the 16th century.

&nbsp;Today's tour will lead us from Hvar Island to Split. Split is the second largest city of Croatia and a popular tourist spot. The city is a dream for history enthusiasts, rich in history &nbsp;across the whole city, with many archaeological sites and historical buildings falling under the protection of UNESCO heritage. Here the main attraction and heart of the city's history &nbsp;is Diocletian's Palace. It is one of the most imposing ancient Roman structures in existence today and is the perfect place to learn about the city's history and architecture. Tour members can find many places to explore here, and its labyrinthine style streets and wonderful waterfront are thriving with bars, shops and restaurants.

On today's tour we will travel from Split to Makarska. Makarska is famous for the Biokovo National Park, its gorgeous coastal landscape, spectacular beaches and hidden bays. This lovely resort town lies in the center of Central Dalmatia, south of Split. Tour members can walk through the Old Town of Makarska, to discover many Dalmatian stone houses, landmarks, restaurants, traditionals taverns and bars. The main attractions here are the famous Church of St. Mark, and Kalelarga Street where many market stalls can be found selling local delicacies. On the picturesque seafront promenade which is the heart of the coastal city lies the Statue of St Peter, watching over the waterfront, this statue honors St Peter who was believed to be one of the apostles, sent by Christ to spread his message of redemption. Remembered as one of the most humble men, he became the founder of the Church and the first pope. This statue was built in 2009 and he is holding a key to remind people to be on their best behavior to gain entry to heaven.

Today we will sail from Makarska to Korcula Island which is the sixth-largest island in Croatia known for its dense forestry. The first location that we will explore on Korcula Island is Lumbarda. It is one of the most beautiful towns due to its picturesque location, vineyards, sandy beaches, relaxing atmosphere and culinary delights. We will then travel approximately 7 kilometers on Korcula Island to Korcula Old Town where medieval squares, churches, palaces and houses can be seen. The old town may be small but as for quality it is very well preserved, the layout and construction of the Old Town dates back to the second half of the 13th century, laid out in a shape resembling a fishbone to protect against the sea's strong winds. Tour members can visit many attractions here such as the Land Gate, Revelin Tower, Sea Gate, St Mark’s Cathedral, Town Museum and Marco Polo’s House.

Today's trip will take us from Korcula Island to Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik is a Croatian city on the Dalmatian Coast, renowned for its exquisite historical attractions. Here there are many things for tour members to do and see such as visiting the stone walls of Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik's clocktower, or partaking in one of the most popular adrenaline-pumping activities of cliff diving at Buza Beach. The medieval city attracts many visitors due to its well-preserved buildings and landmarks, such as the Franciscan Monastery, The Church of Saint Blaise, Dubrovnik Cathedral, and Sponza Palace Dubrovnik. Tour members will also have the opportunity to visit Dubrovnik Stradun Street which is the main street in Dubrovnik Old Town. It stretches from Pile Gate which is the western entrance to the old town, all the way to the Old Town’s port. In ancient times it was a channel that divided the small island and was later filled to create the main town’s street. For 50 years it has been completely pedestrianized and acts as the main local promenade, full of cafes, shops and restaurants to enjoy.

On the final day of the tour, we will depart from Dubrovnik at 9:00 am.&nbsp;Dubrovnik was once known as Ragusa during the rule of the Byzantine Empire. After much destruction and devastation, Dubrovnik reformed, becoming one of the most popular destinations in Croatia and attracting visitors from all over the world. It welcomes tourists during the summer season, showcasing its culture, spectacular scenery, calm crystal-clear waters, and unique history. Here tour members can delve into the city's influential historical sites, such as the city's striking stone defense walls, or the Minceta and Boka fortresses, along with churches and Monasteries. One of the most popular attractions in this area is overlooking the beauty below, from a trip on the Dubrovnik cable cars, which provide sensational views of the whole city and the shimmering Adriatic waters.
