The king pursued the nymph, but she was able to escape by transforming herself into a fish. The king was so impressed by the nymph's beauty that he created Paradise Beach in her honor. Another legend tells of a pirate who buried his treasure on the beach. The treasure has never been found, but many people still search for it.

The best time to visit Paradise Beach is from May to October. The weather is warm and sunny during these months, and the water is clear and inviting. The beach is located in a sheltered bay, so the water is usually calm. However, there can be strong winds in the afternoon, so it is important to be aware of the conditions before swimming or mooring.

For sailing enthusiasts, the wind conditions just beyond Paradise Beach are nothing short of exceptional. The island's location provides a consistent meltemi wind from the northwest throughout the summer season. The prevailing wind averages between 15-25 knots, making it ideal for exciting sailing experiences outside of the swimming zones. Yachtsmen can utilize the meltemi's power to glide effortlessly through the cerulean waters and enjoy exhilarating cruises along the coast.

When it comes to anchorage, there are several options to accommodate yachts of different sizes. To the east and west of the beach, there are designated anchorage areas where boats can drop anchor comfortably. However, since it is a popular destination, it's advisable to arrive early or make advanced reservations during the peak season, typically July and August,  to secure a prime spot.

There are also a number of water sports rentals available, including windsurfing, kitesurfing, and even scuba diving.
